PTA Meeting
Are you interested in learning more about Kilgour and the various activities and happenings taking place there?  Do you want to join with other parents in working to keep Kilgour a top notch public school?  If you answered yes to either of those questions (or even if you answered no for some mysterious reason), the PTA invites you to join us for our first PTA meeting of the year at 7PM on September 7th in the Kilgour library.  No RSVPs necessary - just show up!  Please contact Dave Shirey, PTA President, at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. PTA Membership
Thank you to everyone who already joined PTA for 2011-12 at our Back to School Sno-Kone Social.  If you are not yet a member, please fill out the application form located at http://www.kilgourpta.org/forms.  Send the form to your child's teacher marked "Attention PTA Membership" along with your membership dues.  You may also place your forms and fees (in a sealed envelope) in the PTA Mailbox.  Memberships are listed individually so please let us know if both parents would like to join.  Each membership fee is $5.  With your membership you may also order a school logo magnet ($3 ea. or 2/$5).  Your membership card and any magnets will be sent home with your child within a week of receipt of the form and your payment.

ROOM PARENTS NEEDED

Cub Scout Roundup and Welcome Back Pizza Party!
The Cub Scouts of Pack 113 would like to invite all boys in the 1st through 5th grades interested in Cub Scouts to join their friends and our other scouts in their quest for adventure.  An informational meeting and family pizza party will be held on Friday, August 26th in the Kilgour cafeteria.  We will be meeting at 6:30pm.  The first 15 minutes will involve completing paperwork.  The program portion of the evening will start at approximately 6:45pm and will last about 30 minutes or so.  Please contact Steve Deck at 484-8504 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Kilgour Day at Walnut Hills Varsity Soccer Game!
This Saturday (August 27th) at 7pm is the first Kilgour Day at a Walnut Hills Varsity Soccer Game.  All Kilgour children wearing Spiritwear or a Kilgour Jersey will get in free!  In addition, our very own two Kilgour Girls Striker teams, coached by Josh Morgan and Steve Wetzel, will be announced and play each other during a half-time exhibition game!! 

This game will be very exciting as it is against Oak Hills, the game partner is Skyline Chili, and there will be giveaways as well!  What a great way for kids going to Walnut to participate in an important sporting event as an "invited guest".  We hope you can make it!

COSI is Coming to Kilgour!  Volunteers Needed
Ohio's traveling science lab is coming back to Kilgour on September 15th and 16th.  This year's theme is weather.  We are looking for volunteers for half or whole day shifts.  Half day shifts are 9am - 12pm (breakfast and lunch provided) and 12pm - 3:30pm (lunch provided).  All day shifts are 9am - 3:30pm (breakfast and lunch provided).  Please contact Melissa Nelson or Sara Kleiner at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Box Tops for Education
This is a reminder to make sure you collect your Box Tops!  Look for the special Box Top emblem on all your favorite grocery items.  There is a special envelope going home with all students for you to use to collect your Box Tops.  Let's get our students excited to cut those Box Tops by letting them know the class that collects the most Box Tops can win a great prize at the end of every quarter!!!

You can also shop in the online Box Tops Marketplace (can be found under the "earn" tab) at www.boxtops4education.com.  You will find over 100 retailers that will earn our school additional Box Tops awards.  You can set up an account very quickly - just remember to designate Kilgour as your school. 

Remember - this is such an EASY way to earn money for the Kilgour PTA.
