Kilgour Staff Holiday Gift Fund
Contributions due Friday, December 11
As you gear up for the holiday season, keep in mind that we are continuing the tradition of the Kilgour Staff Holiday Gift Fund. This is a wonderful tradition started five years ago as a way of celebrating our wonderful faculty and staff at Kilgour. This monetary gift will be given to each faculty and staff member. In lieu of purchasing individual gifts for the staff, each Kilgour family is asked to make a monetary contribution to the Gift Fund. Look for details in a letter that will be coming home beginning of December. Contact Andrea Lukin at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with any questions. Thanks for your support of our staff!

Kilgour's Giving Tree
Gifts due Monday, December 14
The annual tradition of the Kilgour Giving Tree is in the front hall of the school until Friday December 11. The tree will be decorated with wish requests from our fellow Mustang families that need a little extra support to help make the holiday season brighter. To help spread some joy, please choose an ornament (or ornaments) from the tree and sign it/them out on the clipboard in the main office. Once you have taken an ornament, if unforeseen circumstances prevent you from donating, please return the ornament to the office, so we can ensure that each wish has a chance to be granted.

Please return WRAPPED gifts to the office no later than Monday, December 14. Thank you so much for your generosity this holiday season. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. any time. Happy Holidays!

COSI on Wheels to Visit Kilgour
January 5-6
The PTA is proud to bring the Columbus Center of Science and Industry to Kilgour. On January 5 and 6, COSI staff will lead a brief morning assembly after which our students will then experience hands on activities, all on the theme of “Exploring Ecology.” The hands-on stations require many parent volunteers to be successful, and we hope you can help.

We ask that volunteers commit to at least a half of a day, but some enjoy it so much they volunteer for the full two days! We feed all of our volunteers a delicious breakfast and Chipotle for lunch.  Volunteers can sign up by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. Skate Club Coming Soon
The winter Skate Club will be held on January 8 and March 4 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. More information and sign ups will come home soon. In the meantime, we are looking for volunteers to help watch the door and keep an eye on skaters. More on the “Hour of Code”
Second Grade students will participate in the “Hour of Code” from December 7-13. Code.org’s new “Star Wars: Building a Galaxy with Code” and "Minecraft" lessons for the Hour of Code 2015 aims to nurture creativity, and teach logic and problem solving through basic computer programming.  Last year’s tutorial, in which President Obama participated at the White House for the Hour of Code last December, has been completed more than 13 million times and tapped Anna and Elsa from Walt Disney Animation Studio’s blockbuster film “Frozen.”  Go to Code.org to learn about the exciting world of coding!

According to Mr. Carlson, who will lead Kilgour’s Hour of Code, “learning how to write computer code - coding - is an exciting way to engage students of all ages to tap into the technology that underlies laptops, tablets, smartphones, desktops and other devices.

Kilgour’s coding lessons will be based on characters from Frozen, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Minecraft. To learn more about the Hour of Code, please visit:
