Kilgour Silent Auction Needs YOU!
The Kilgour Silent Auction is one of our largest fundraisers and typically raises $40,000 or more to help support our school fund projects such as the patio renovations, books for the library and technology improvements. This fundraiser is only successful due to the support of you! We are currently planning for our November 13 event. To learn how you can help make our event a success, join us at Chris Almand’s house on Thursday, September 7 at 7:00 p.m. For location and more information, please email Chris at This email address is being protected from spambots. The Time to Support Kilgour is NOW!
Sponsorship Deadline extended to September 10
We have revamped Kilgour's sponsorship program and are reaching out to families and potential donors now! From Platinum and Gold Sponsorships to Family and Small Business supporters, we have something to offer budgets of every size. Our largest donors will receive many benefits, including presenting honors for a major event, recognition on banners and their logo on our school website. Smaller donors now have more options as well, from a company logo on raffle tickets, 5K t-shirts or small gym banners to company names on Silent Auction invites or concert programs.

Over the years families have been a generous with their donations to support our school. This year we have a great family sponsorship package that gives families (or small businesses) a chance to pick two sponsorship benefits for a donation of $300 (example: name on concert program and two tickets to Silent Auction).

Our plan is to recognize donors and encourage families to support our sponsors throughout the year. Therefore, we are seeking commitments from businesses and families early in the school year.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

  1. You and or your business can choose a sponsorship level to support Kilgour Elementary.
  2. You can help the sponsorship team by suggesting or helping us contact businesses that might be interested in sponsoring Kilgour.

For more information on sponsorship levels, please visit the Sponsor page on the PTA website or contact Erin Paul, Sarah Evans, and Tenney Verkamp at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Kilgour Kids Care Gives Back
Kilgour Kids Care is back for the 2015-16 school year. This school-wide program partners each grade with a charitable giving activity that they will share with the rest of the school. The classes, Student Council and PTA work cooperatively to give students a personal connection to giving and sharing.

MEAC Canned Food Drive - Beginning September 21 through October 2, support the non-perishable Food Drive for the Madisonville Education and Assistance Center (MEAC), led by our Third and Fourth Grade students. Wish list items include canned meats, fruit and veggies, meals in a can, such as ravioli and chili, pasta and 16 oz. jars of peanut butter. Recycled plastic bags to help clients "shop" the food pantry. Watch our "can-struction" sculpture grow in the front lobby with our Kilgour generosity! Questions? Sixth Graders Prepare for Excellence on Walnut Hills Test
Our Sixth Grade students and teachers are busy preparing for the October 5 Terra Nova testing. This is one of the tests that Walnut Hills uses for their entrance exams.

Our tradition of excellence at Kilgour, which includes the hard work of our teachers and students, prepares our students to succeed at one of the top public high schools in the nation. Historically, almost 85% of Kilgour students are accepted to Walnut Hills, with approximately 75% accepted after the first round of testing.

Walnut uses the scores from the Reading and Math portions of the test to determine acceptance. We typically receive the results the end of November/beginning of December. Parents will be notified directly from test administration via U.S. mail whether or not their child has been accepted. If your child is not accepted, they have the opportunity to retest on several dates determined by the district. To be guaranteed enrollment at Walnut Hills for 2016-17 students must pass the entrance examination and enroll by March 23, 2016.
