Budgeting and Tracking Your Student's Fees
The back-to-school season can seem like an expensive time, with multiple fees due to several different Kilgour groups. The PTA created a sheet to help you budget, give some explanation of the fees and help you keep track of what you paid when. Note that throughout the year, you may receive individual fliers or notices from your student’s teacher for exact amounts and due dates for each fee.  Additionally, some teachers may collect fees for other educational needs, such as magazine subscriptions.

COSI on Wheels: The Incredible Human Machine
The Columbus Center of Science and Industry will be visiting Kilgour on September 16 and 17. All of our children will have the opportunity to learn about "The Incredible Human Machine" during an engaging presentation and fun, interactive stations. Volunteers are needed to assist at the stations: all materials are provided and no scientific knowledge is necessary! Morning or afternoon shifts on both days are needed. Breakfast and lunch are provided to all of our fantastic volunteers. If you would like more information and/or want to sign up, please contact Carly Wise or Tita Propst at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

The Incredible Human Machine
COSI's Body Mechanic helps students learn what it takes to keep their body engines in tip-top shape. Explore the digestive, nervous and circulatory systems, plus learn about nutrients and how exercise keeps a body healthy.

From Mr. O . . . The New Librarian
A big THANK YOU for the fantastic welcome to Kilgour Elementary. What a great place! This year I would like to help your student utilize INFOhio (www.infohio.org) for their research and reading needs. This is a great website, and a safe place for parents and students to look up all kinds of information. It can read books to your student (Scholastic Book Flix) or help with research (Biography Reference Bank or EBSCOhost) for a research paper or project. When you have an opportunity, check it out!

I will work with your students to use INFOhio for all their research and information finding needs. If you have questions, please contact me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Yearbooks Have Arrived!
The 2013/14 Yearbooks are now available for sale at $16 each and include 76 color pages full of pictures of Kilgour students and teachers. We also have original artwork by eight Kilgour students - including the incredibly creative inner and outer cover artwork by our own Ally Standley. Ally's artwork captures the diversity at Kiglour that makes our school so exceptional. Orders can be placed today on the PTA website and the yearbook will be sent home with your child within one to two weeks. We've ordered 350 yearbooks and they're selling fast. Order your yearbook now before they run out.

Soccer Team Photos for Kilgour Yearbook
Liz Koch will take soccer team photos for the Kilgour yearbook at each team’s practice on Wednesday, September 17 and Thursday, September 18. Please dress your student in his or her soccer uniform for these practices. Liz will be at Otto Armleder Park and plans to take photos during the last 10 minutes of each team’s practice. Spirit Wear Fridays
Please have your student wear KILGOUR SPIRIT WEAR every Friday. Counts will be taken each Friday of the number of children in each class that are participating. Each quarter, the Primary and Intermediate classes with the greatest percentage of Spirit participants will win a class party thanks to support of the Sports Boosters.  Any and all effort is encouraged. If the students are making an effort, it counts!

To that end, we ask that you consider DONATING your gently used Kilgour Spirit Wear or Kilgour Inspired Wear that we can pass along to any children that may like to participate. Please bring these items to school and place in the bin marked SPIRIT WEAR to the right of the office door. Any questions, please email Andrea Lukin at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Kilgour Halloween Costume Shop
We are starting preparations for our costume shop. This provides students without costumes a chance to shop our store for a costume they can wear for school Halloween activities and take home  for Trick or Treating. If you have any costumes that you could donate, please bring them to school and place in the bin for COSTUMES in the hall to the right of the office door. Any questions, please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
