Recess in the Stadium: June 7th
The Heart Institute at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, the Cincinnati Bengals and the American Heart Association are inviting CPS students and their families to sign up at www.heart.org/recess2014 or contact Pam Schramm at 513-842-8873 for Recess in the Stadium reservations. See the Recess in the Stadium invite here.

Recess is a free family friendly event with educational and interactive booths promoting a heart healthy lifestyle for the children and their families on June 7th from 9am-noon at the Bengals Stadium. We will have a 40 yard dash, a healthy fun wheel, nutrition stations, obstacle course and CPR training. Participants will also get the opportunity to touch and feel a cow's heart to learn how it works. We greatly appreciate your support of this worthy cause. It will be a very fun and educational day for these children and their families -- those who register by May 25 will receive a free t-shirt to be received at the event.

This Summer at Kilgour!
You might see a lot of activity at Kilgour this summer and wonder what's happening?!?!?

CISV (Children's International Summer Villages) is hosting an international Village from June 21 until July 18. We are a global community of dedicated volunteers, creating opportunities for all ages to experience the excitement and enrichment of cultural diversity through our educational programs. We are founded on our belief that peace is possible through friendship - and that the real difference can be made by starting with children. CISV educates and inspires action for a more just and peaceful world.

The campers are 11 years old and there are 4 from each country – traveling with an adult leader. We have 6 local staff, 1 of which attended Kilgour (Charli Philpott is our Director), 1 staff from the Chicago area and 1 from Bogata, Colombia. We have lots of volunteers whose children have traveled with CISV, attending programs all over the world (many Kilgour students have enjoyed this opportunity).

So you will see kids playing on the playground – running on the soccer field and having a great time. Please feel free to continue to use the playground as you always have – just be aware that many of these children do not speak English and will be very busy in their activities (so please don't be offended if they don't speak to you).

Volunteers Needed for CISV
Dedicated volunteers run our programs and we have lots of volunteer opportunities. This document contains descriptions of what is needed and how you and your family can become involved!! Take a moment and consider volunteering – working with this international community is an experience you will never forget.
