Cincinnati Bengals mascot "Who Dey" will be here for breakfast on March 12th from 8:45-9:15am. Remember, breakfast is FREE for all CPS students.

The 2014-2015 district wide calendar is now posted on cps-k12.org. Copies will be distributed after Spring Break.

Kindergarten Roundup & 2014/15 Registration
Kindergarten Roundup and school registration will take place on Thursday, March 27 from 10:00am. - 6:00pm.  Tours will take place during the day, and teachers will be available for questions from 4:00-6:00pm.

Volunteers are needed for Kilgour's Kindergarten Roundup and school registration. Be sure to tell your friends and neighbors to attend. The sooner they register, the better to help us make plans for the next school year!

2014/15 School Year Preparations and Planning

  • Help spread the word! If you know of families interested in Kilgour and live within our school boundaries, PLEASE ENCOURAGE THEM TO ENROLL BEGINNING MARCH 27TH. Do not wait until August! Early enrollment helps our school to identify and request appropriate staffing and educational needs.
  • The Instructional Leadership Team, Lead teachers and Mrs. Cook Frazier are exploring various program options and changes for the upcoming year in the areas of Mustang Mondays, Gifted/Enrichment opportunities/services, clubs and more. Additional information is forthcoming.

School Updates/Reminders

  • City of Cincinnati construction work on Herschel - Please note that the school has no control of the construction. HOWEVER, we have requested a time change to help with arrival and dismissal. In the interim, PLEASE BE SURE TO ADHERE to the procedures in place by the officers out front. We appreciate your patience during this time.
  • Students walking alone? Please be sure if your child is a walker that he/she has a buddy to walk with home. 

Ohio Achievement Assessments (State Testing) Rescheduled
The Ohio Achievement Assessment testing for Grades 3-6 will be delayed by one week. The testing schedule is:
Tuesday, May 6 - Reading
Wednesday, May 7 - Math
Thursday, May 8 - Science
Please make every effort to have your students in school and alert on these days.


Kilgour Sports Events: Save the Date
March Madness will take place on Saturday, March 15th for all boys' and girls' basketball teams. Stay tuned for details.

Ice Cream Social for Sports Recognition Night will take place Tuesday, April 15th at 6:00 pm in the Kilgour gym.

Max & Erma's Fundraiser Night: March 20th
20% of proceeds from sales on March 20th will go to the PTA! Present this certificate to your server at the Rookwood location to receive the credit.

Right to Read Week and Book Fair
Kilgour's Right to Read week and spring book fair will take place from March 17-21. The book fair will be open the night of the spaghetti dinner on March 21. Look for opportunities in your child's classroom to volunteer to support the week's events!

Kilgour Family Spaghetti Dinner & Dance
Join us for Kilgour's 34th Annual Family Spaghetti Dinner and Dance on Friday, March 21st from 5-8pm. Come eat LaRosa's spaghetti and meatballs with your family, teachers, and friends. Browse the Kilgour Spirit shop and the Book Fair. Dance with your kids in the gym.

To purchase tickets go to http://kilgourpta.org/spaghetti. You can also turn in this form to your child's teacher by TUESDAY, MARCH 18th . Be sure to include cash or a check made out to "Kilgour PTA". We will be doing 5:00, 5:45, 6:30 and 7:00 seatings again this year. No paper tickets will be issued. All you have to do is check in the night of the dinner at your seating time. Please buy your tickets EARLY to assist with planning. There is usually "no wait" at the 5:00 and 7:00 pm seating times. Mark Your Calendar and Volunteer for Carnival
Kilgour Carnival will be held on Saturday, May 17 from 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. This fun filled event is one of the biggest fundraisers that supports various programs in our school.

We are making plans now and are looking for volunteers for the various committees. If you are looking for a way to be more involved with Kilgour, this is a great way to show your support. We need someone to chair the food committee, and volunteers are welcome to help with the bake sale, classroom baskets, food, games and rides, raffle, redemption, signs, tickets, t-shirts and volunteers. Volunteer for the March Teacher Appreciation Lunch
March's Teacher Appreciation activity will be a lunch for our entire staff. This is the one day a school year when all the teachers get to have lunch together, provided by the PTA.

In order for this to happen, we need three or more adults to volunteer to supervise their students' classroom. The lunch will take place on Tuesday, March 25.
