II. Recording Secretary – Laura Deck
a. Approval of minutes - A motion was made to approve the minutes (motion – Tracy Mason, second – Lori Ware). Motion passed.
III. Kilgour Sports Boosters – Davith Adams

a. Basketball is finishing up in the next month or so.
b. Baseball, Softball and Soccer spring sign-ups ended on Monday.
c. Date for March Madness is set for Sunday March 7.
d. Still looking for people to be in charge of spiritwear next year.
i. A suggestion was made that Sports Boosters look at a committee for this instead of the burden on one or two people.
ii. Another suggestion was made to return to using order forms for it in addition to the sales that occur at different Kilgour events during the year.
e. Davith related that he met with Jerrell about the shed. Playground and sports equipment will be in it.
IV. Treasurer’s Report – Lori Ware

a. Lori presented the budget.
b. Lori reminded the teachers to sign the form and to indicate at the top to whom it should be paid.
c. 2 teachers have requested $150 for copy clicks out of their budget. Mrs. Armstrong expressed support for the teachers’ request as long as it was in the $700 PTA teacher budget.
d. We earned $163 from Joseph Beth for the book wrapping.
e. A motion was made to approve the budget (motion - Judy Neff, second – Lynne Stuart). Motion passed.
V. Principal’s Report – Angela Cook

a. Haiti Project – Homerooms for Haiti penny wars – Over $5,000 was raised. Thanks for your support! All the funds will be going to Red Cross. There was an anonymous donation to match the earnings!
b. H & R Block will give $25 back to Kilgour if someone brings in a Kilgour flier when going to H & R for their taxes.
c. State of the School Newsletter/Update – Week of February 8
i. LSDMC – Kilgour Foundation (help with capital building fund) – Are you interested in working on the planning committee? Contact Ms. Cook at .
ii. In 2012, Kilgour will be 90 years old!
iii. 2010-2011 School year
1. Planning and preparation in progress – enrollment/budget/ staffing
2. Mrs. Hans’ new kindergarten class is now at 17 kids.
3. Concern is whether Kilgour may be above current number of classrooms.
4. Jenell Walton from Channel 9 did a news story on Kilgour this week.
5. Superintendent Mary Ronin is also aware of Kilgour’s space issues.
6. Kilgour Kindergarten Round-up is March 6.
VI. Teachers’ Report – Terry Armstrong
a. Mrs. Armstrong is happy to be here.
b. Teacher parties for spaghetti dinner will be ready February 19.
c. Thank you for the carpeting in two 2nd grade classrooms. Lori Raser clarified that the money was donated to PTA by Amy Adam earmarked for specific items.
d. Mrs. Armstrong thanked the parents for everything they do for the kids.
VII. New Business
a. Need PTA Board Member job descriptions by Feb. 17th
i. This past month, the main task has been to recruit new people into positions. We have more families in our school and fewer volunteers.
ii. Lori R. is asking that all the PTA board members complete a PTA position job description. A sample was provided.
iii. Thank you to the Hendersons for coming to the meeting tonight!
b. Bring a friend to PTA!
i. Next month the board is asking you to bring all your Kilgour friends to the meeting next month.
ii. We are looking to increase numbers at PTA meetings to increase awareness of what the PTA does.
iii. We are looking for new folks to review committee postings and get involved.
iv. There will be a drawing that night for something fun!

5. 37,000 tickets will be printed.

i. Dena will be trying to do 1 restaurant fundraiser per month.

h. Inside/Outside Enrichment – Diane Brueggemann & Peggy Groeber
i. Add Everybody Counts program to this committee for 2010/11.
ii. Ski day is Monday February 8.
iii. 1st skating happened and we had a record 124 skaters. There are more signed up for the 2nd date. Diane is looking for chaperones on the bus.
iv. Bowling was last Friday with 28 intermediate kids. Next date is February 26.
v. Famous person luncheon is the week after carnival.
